Collaborative Demand Planner (Corby Based)

The Collaborative Demand Planner will be based at our site in Corby, they will be primarily responsible for understanding customer demand whilst improving service levels. They will forge close working relationships with a number of supermarket and large account customers to internal channel and account managers and Directors.  The role will occasionally require spending  time in the customer`s head office’s to establish the data sets required to reach a set of shared demand numbers, the end result will be a marked increase in Forecast accuracy and Service level.

  

Job Functions:

Create statistical forecasts:
- Gather, analyse and validate data
- Execute statistical modelling software
- Review resulting statistical forecast model
- Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting
- Summarise/aggregate statistical forecasts

Review sales plans , budget updates or latest estimates and demand drivers:
- Present, solicit, and assess feedback on the various forecasts from sales, and finance
- Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts to the Sales Director
- Review promotional plans with your sales team

Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with the customer, sales, marketing, planning and finance
- Prepare relevant material to facilitate research and discussion

Provide input to volume planning (capacity management/ S & OP)
- Facilitate and manage demand planning/customer meetings
- Achieve consensus with the sales team and the planning team

Extract customer data from the customer intranet sites
- Enter customer data to identify opportunities and minimise stock risk
- Identify trends in forecast error and make recommendations to the customer
- Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence

Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process

 

Required Education / Experience / Specific Job-related Skills

Years of Experience:

Two to Three years of experience in the industry.

Experience of best practice in Demand Management including statistical forecasting is a must, as is the track record of achieving high levels of accuracy.

 

Education/Training:

BA/BS college degree or its equivalent

 

Licenses/Certificates:

APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or other forecasting Certification preferred

Any qualification which is of equivalent value will always be accepted, whether this is a geographic or historical equivalent.

 

Other:

Demonstrate forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts. Knowledge of Procast/S & OP, Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning is preferred.  Intermediate to expert level required in Windows, and Microsoft Office.

This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required.
